Elon Musk characterized the upcoming election for Wisconsin’s state Supreme Court as a pivotal moment, suggesting that its outcome could influence control of Congress and ultimately “affect the entire destiny of humanity.” His remarks were made during a rally in Green Bay, just 36 hours before Election Day.
Musk's comments reflect his strong support for Judge Brad Schimel, the conservative candidate in the race. He emphasized that the election transcends typical judicial matters, stating, “What’s happening on Tuesday is a vote for which party controls the U.S. House of Representatives,” highlighting the potential impact of judges on congressional redistricting.
He further asserted that control of the House significantly influences national direction, claiming, “whichever party controls the House to a significant degree controls the country, which then steers the course of Western civilization.” Musk expressed his belief that the election's implications are far-reaching, despite some perceiving it as less critical.
During the event, Musk, a close adviser to President Trump, presented two $1 million checks to Wisconsin voters, continuing a controversial tactic despite a failed last-minute lawsuit from Democrats aimed at preventing the donations.
In total, Musk and affiliated groups have invested over $20 million to support Schimel, whom Musk described as an underdog in the race. He remarked on the need for extraordinary efforts to secure a victory, stating, “We’ve got to pull a rabbit out of the hat — next level.”
Musk appeared at the rally wearing a cheesehead hat, a symbol of support for the Green Bay Packers, which he later signed and threw into the audience.
