Israel deploys soldiers to southern Lebanon.

Israeli military forces have initiated a limited invasion into southern Lebanon to target Hezbollah military infrastructure near the Israel-Lebanon border, aiming to eliminate immediate threats to northern Israeli communities. This operation follows weeks of Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, resulting in numerous casualties. The invasion involves commando units supported by air cover and artillery, with the potential for escalation to a larger-scale operation. The decision for the invasion was made in response to ongoing hostilities that began last year when Hezbollah began attacks in solidarity with Hamas. The goal of the invasion is to create a safe environment for displaced Israelis to return home, while many Lebanese civilians have also been affected by the conflict.
