Clarice Rivers, the inspirational figure for two artists, passes away at the age of 88.


In 1961, Clarice Rivers and her husband Larry Rivers lived in an artist community in Paris, where she befriended Niki de Saint Phalle and inspired her iconic Nana sculptures. Known for her vibrant personality and artistic pursuits, Clarice was a muse to many and hosted lively gatherings with notable creative figures. Her unconventional life with Larry involved complex relationships but enduring affection. Born in Wales, she moved to London before marrying Larry in 1961.
