Italy has initiated an investigation into the behavior of the captain of the sunken yacht.

Italian authorities have initiated a formal inquiry into the conduct of James Cutfield, the captain of the superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily, resulting in the deaths of seven individuals, including British tech billionaire Mike Lynch. Mr. Cutfield is being investigated for potential manslaughter and for his role in the shipwreck. Despite the investigation, no restrictions have been imposed on his movements. The crew members are expected to cooperate with the inquiry, and while there are lingering questions about the cause of the sinking, the exact circumstances remain unclear. The survivors and crew members have been staying at a resort near the accident site. The bodies have been found, but autopsies have not been conducted, and the process of extracting the boat from underwater is expected to take several weeks.
