Ukraine has lost its hard-earned position near the Dnipro River in the south.

Ukrainian forces have relinquished a hard-won position on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River near Kherson after a prolonged and bloody battle. The military's attempt to establish a bridgehead on the Russian-controlled bank was met with logistical vulnerabilities and limited gains. The operation, which aimed to tie down Russian troops and disrupt their logistics, resulted in heavy casualties and destruction of the village of Krynky. Despite the high cost, the operation was perceived as politically motivated to demonstrate Ukraine's offensive capabilities. However, military analysts and soldiers involved questioned the operation's strategic value and its toll on resources. The loss of Krynky underscores the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces in the ongoing conflict.
