Photographs and videos depict the Bangladesh Protests.

University students in Bangladesh have been involved in violent clashes with the police and supporters of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party, resulting in at least 17 deaths and over 1,000 injuries. The students are protesting against a government job quota system which they believe is unjust. In response, protesters have set fire to government buildings, including the national television station in the capital city, Dhaka. Prime Minister Hasina’s government has deployed police and paramilitary forces, including an antiterrorism unit, to confront the demonstrators. Armed with sticks and bats, the students have clashed with the police and members of the Awami League, the Prime Minister’s party.
