Slovakia's Prime Minister, Robert Fico, showed signs of improving health after a successful second surgery to treat wounds sustained in an assassination attempt. Deputy Minister Robert Kalinak stated that Mr. Fico is conscious, despite the seriousness of the injury. The 71-year-old suspect in the shooting remains in custody pending trial. Due to the severity of his injuries, Mr. Fico will not be transferred to Bratislava for several days.
