As pressure mounts for a ceasefire in Gaza, Turkey has decided to halt trade with Israel.

Turkey announced on Friday the suspension of all trade with Israel until a "permanent cease-fire" is established in the Gaza Strip, adding to the global pressure for an end to the conflict. The decision came in response to Israel's continued offensive warnings in Gaza. Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, stated that they stand with the persecuted, while Israel's foreign minister criticized the move. Israel's international isolation has intensified as countries downgrade or cut ties. The United Nations warned of a potential "slaughter" in Gaza if an offensive in Rafah proceeds. Amid mounting pressure, Israel's global standing is affected, and the calls for a cease-fire and Palestinian statehood are gaining momentum. Efforts to broker a cease-fire and hostage release are ongoing, with Hamas expressing commitment to an agreement meeting their demands.
