The skies above Athens were tinged orange on Tuesday as dust from the Sahara blew north, creating an unusual atmosphere over the city's landmarks. This phenomenon, while not unprecedented, was particularly concentrated, leading to striking scenes around the Acropolis and other parts of Athens. Kostas Lagouvardos, from the National Observatory of Athens, described it as the worst case in years. Although the dust had cleared by Wednesday, the Greek Health Ministry advised people to refrain from outdoor exercise and keep doors and windows closed.
