Harvard’s Response to Subpoenas Is Called ‘Useless’ by House Committee

House Committee Criticizes Harvard's Response to Subpoenas Representative Virginia Foxx, leading a House investigation of campus antisemitism, criticized Harvard University for submitting "useless" documents in response to subpoenas. She accused Harvard of arrogance, ineptness, or indifference and called its actions shameful. Harvard defended its response, stating it acted in good faith and has turned over nearly 4,900 pages of material. The standoff reflects divisions on campus since the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel, with concerns about protecting students from antisemitic messaging and protests. Other universities are also grappling with similar challenges. Foxx has announced investigations of antisemitism at other universities as well.
