Dozens of Top Scientists Sign Effort to Prevent A.I. Bioweapons

Top scientists, including Nobel laureate Frances Arnold, have signed an agreement to prevent the potential misuse of A.I. technologies in creating bioweapons. They believe that the benefits of A.I. for protein design outweigh the risks and seek to regulate the use of equipment needed to manufacture genetic material for this purpose. The agreement does not aim to suppress A.I. development but calls for security measures and reviews to ensure responsible use. This effort reflects broader concerns about the risks and benefits of A.I. technologies.
