Four years after the Covid-19 shutdown, live performance audiences are experiencing a mixed recovery. Pop concerts and sporting events are seeing a strong comeback, while Broadway and major museums are still struggling with reduced attendance. Broadway audiences remain 17 percent below pre-pandemic levels, with box office grosses down by 14 percent. Nonprofit theaters are also facing challenges, while touring Broadway shows are thriving. On the other hand, sales for major pop concerts have surged by 65 percent, indicating a strong rebound in that sector.
