U.S. Strikes Test Iran’s Will to Escalate

Washington and its allies anticipate Iran choosing the latter, avoiding a direct conflict. However, it remains uncertain if Iran-backed proxy forces will also back off. Despite no direct communication with Iran, there have been signals from both sides.
