She Wanted an R.V. He Wanted a Sailboat. This Was Their Compromise.


A couple in Minneapolis had differing dreams of owning an R.V. and a sailboat. They compromised by purchasing a motorboat with a large cabin, which they transformed into a cozy living space. The boat required extensive renovation, including repainting the exterior, replacing the flooring, and customizing the interior. The project took three years and cost about $250,000. They now enjoy spending time on the water with their family, and both have abandoned their original preferences. The boat, named Freya, has become their beloved retreat.
