Fragments of Asteroid With Mystery Origin Are Found Outside Berlin


Astronomers tracked a small asteroid entering Earth's atmosphere, leading to the discovery of rare meteorite fragments near Berlin. The meteorite is an aubrite, a type with unknown origins, possibly from Mercury. Only a few such events have allowed scientists to trace an incoming rock's origin.
