31,000 Ukrainian Soldiers Killed in Two Years of War, Zelensky Says

President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that approximately 31,000 Ukrainian soldiers have lost their lives in the war with Russia over the past two years. This is the first time an official figure for Ukraine's toll has been disclosed. Zelensky expressed the magnitude of this loss but did not disclose the number of wounded or missing, citing concerns about revealing sensitive military information to Russia. While this figure differs significantly from U.S. estimates, it comes as Ukraine's armed forces are facing increased pressure from Russian attacks. The Ukrainian military is seeking additional troops to counter these assaults, and a mobilization bill is being considered for a potential large-scale draft of up to 500,000 troops.
