UNRWA Is Investigating Charges of Workers’ Involvement in Oct. 7 Attacks

UNRWA is investigating allegations of 12 of its Gaza employees' involvement in the Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel. The workers, accused by Israel, are under criminal investigation and have been terminated. The U.S. has temporarily halted funding to UNRWA, a major aid agency in Gaza. UNRWA's head has condemned the attacks and pledged accountability for any employee involved in terrorism. Israel has previously accused UNRWA of incitement, and the U.N.'s swift response contrasts with previous denials of Israeli allegations.
