Marie Menken's film 'Visual Variations on Noguchi,' shot almost 80 years ago at Isamu Noguchi's studio, is being shown for the first time at his museum. The avant-garde film captures Noguchi's sculptures in close-up, with a score added later. The exhibit challenges the idea of encyclopedic completeness in museums, presenting subjective experiences alongside the sculptures. The show also includes Noguchi's sculptures, offering a new perspective on his work. Another Menken film, 'Moonplay,' is also featured, providing a contrasting experience of motion and tranquility. The exhibit runs until February 4th at The Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum.
