Josephine Baker, Still Moving

Josephine Baker, a multi-talented artist from St. Louis, captivated Paris in 1925 with her remarkable performances in "La Revue Nègre." Referred to as "a woman made of rubber" and "Black Venus," she became an Art Deco icon and was honored by Beyoncé. The Berlin exhibition "Josephine Baker: Icon in Motion" reconsiders her life and work, emphasizing multiple interpretations and showcasing her influence on high fashion. The show runs through April 28 and pays tribute to Baker as an artist and activist.
